Good Friends Good Food - Rutabaga Puff

Image
This week in GFGF group, Ulrike chose rutabaga for us to cook.  Growing up in the south, we enjoyed rutabaga cooked many ways.   It is a very homely looking vegetable, but so tasty! This was supposed to be pretty when it finished cooking.  It wasn’t.  But it was so delicious and that is what counts right?   Looking forward to the leftovers as well!  It was a great side to our lemon pepper pork chop and asparagus. Recipe Peel rutabaga and cut into one inch cubes.  Cook in instant pot for six minutes.  (Of course you could also boil in water if you are not an instant pot person.)  mash with three tablespoons butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar, salt, pepper, and 1 tsp. Nutmeg.  Top with bread crumbs and 2T melted butter.  Bake at 350 for thirty minutes. Recipe: ▢  6   portobello mushroom caps ▢  4   slices   cooked bacon , crumbled (1/3 cup) ▢  3   scallions , thinly sliced (1/3 cup) ▢  1/2   cup   shredded  cheddar cheese   ▢  1/2   cup   finely grated  parmesan cheese ▢  3   cloves   garlic , minced ▢  1/2   teaspoon   table salt INSTRUCTIONS Prebake Mushrooms : Preheat oven to 400 F.  On baking  half sheet  lined with  parchment paper ,  p
