TWD - Cran Apple Crisps

Here's a movie quote. One of my favorite movies of all time. Do you know what movie it is from? I'll have the answer down below in case you don't.

"As God is my witness, as God is my witness, they're not going to lick me! I'm going to live through this, and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again - no, nor any of my folks! If I have to lie, steal, cheat, or kill! As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again."

Em of the Repressed Pastry Chef chose Cran Apple Crisps for the month of November and what a great choice that was. It filled my home with the most wonderful fall smells. One might think Thanksgiving has already come!
I am not really sure I did the crisp part right. I just sort of blobbed it on there. I'm writing this before I taste it, but I'm sure it tastes superb if it is anything like the smell. Yum.
Check out the recipe at Em's blog and while you are there browse around. Em has some wonderful foods to share with you!
If you guessed Gone With the Wind you would be correct! Thanks for playing along.

That looks fabulous, and I'm sure it will taste fabulous, too! I loved how easy and delicious it was.

I knew it! I knew it! Love that quote (an admirable sentiment, btw). Beautiful crisp - hope you liked the crisp once you dug in. I think crisp's toppings are meant to be blobbed on.

Yum. I love how you can see the cranberries in your crisp. And hey, you may have blobbed the topping on, but I bet you actually used the right amount of sugar! =P

I'm with Nancy...blob on the topping! The more the better. Looks great.

Well, being from the south.... that was an easy one.

Almost as easy as puting this crisp together. And if you can make this, you will never go hungry again.

This looks good! How did it go over at the dinner?

This looks perfect! I think the topping on a crisp melts a bit anyway so precision isn't that important. I haven't made this one yet but it seems to be universally loved.

Hey Peggy! In answer to your comment on my blog post, I'd say the holiday bundt is like a cake-ish quick bread rather than being a show-stopping decadent dessert.

If you like pumpkin bread and cranberry bread, this is very similar, but maybe a bit more dessert-like, especially with the glaze. You could put a cream cheese frosting on it and take it up a notch (or you could make the chestnut cake and spend 2-3 days on dessert!)

December's TWD recipes are up, and there are some lovely desserts among them - the pear tart and the chocolate cheesecake look like beautiful desserts.

Hope that helps!?
