TWD - Dorie's Chocolate Cherry Brownies

Those of you who truly know me know it would be hard for me to resist a good brownie.   I have indulged in dark chocolate ones, brownies filled with nuts, brownies with peanut butter swirls, and some with toffee.  Dorie Greenspan does it up right with her version that is chock full of dried cherries and rich semi-sweet chocolate.  No nuts in these.  For those of you who love oooey gooey goodness, this is the one.  The only problem I had with these is they were hard to slice evenly because of the gooeyness.  Is gooeyness a real word??  If not, it is for purposes of this blog post!

wouldn't one of these be great with a glass of ice cold milk?

check out the other bakers at tuesdayswithdorie.wordpress.com.    And grab a copy of Dorie's book Baking with Chez Moi.   Lots of wonderful desserts in her book!

I know, I know, I told you I would make these but I looked at all that chocolate and just couldn't work myself into it...chocolate and I are not friends. I thought my guys would really love these so maybe I can make them sometime soon. I have to be in the right kind of mood to do the chocolate handling, stirring, baking, etc. Just not there this week. This goes for liver as well. Same deal. lol my friends all tell me there is no way those two are even remotely similar. Well, maybe not to THEM! :-)

Your brownies look wonderfully gooey and fudgy with a perfect crackly top. I'm glad you enjoyed them. I thought they were fantastic with a glass of cold milk
I also wondered about the word gooey-ness! There's really no other way to describe them!
I love me some gooey brownies! I think Zosia commented in her blog post that she found putting the brownies in the fridge to chill after they had cooled, and then cutting them with a warm knife, seemed to help with the gooeyness and the cherry explosion. But whatever the cutting style, they're just plain yummy!

I had to wipe my knife a bit half way through slicing but the gooeyness was appreciated by the consumers so I think it was worth the extra trouble. They look pretty tasty.
they look nicely cut to me-- delicious!
The look great! These were tasty, weren't they? (I pop my brownies into the freezer for about twenty minutes - makes for easier/cleaner cutting.)
