TWD - NO Cinnamon Squares

Tracey of Tracey’s Culinary Adventures chose Cinnamon Squares for this week's challenge and I am sorry Tracey but I did not get to bake this weekend. Go to Tuesdays with Dorie to check out what the other bakers did. My son was here from Orlando for a quick visit and I got to spend a little time with him. Plus, I am trying to get ready to go on vacation. My stepdaughter is graduating from high school in Connecticut and I will be traveling there on Thursday. If you are from Connecticut and have any suggestions of something fun to do there, please fill me in!

I have to leave you with a bit of eye candy too. You probably do not recognize this guy.
What can I say? I'm a proud mom!
Check back Thursday when I have White Gazpacho Soup to share with you.

Where in CT will you be?

If you have time, check out Mystic. Its about 45mins from Farmington. Its super pretty, there is a little downtown with lots of shops and good eating. My favorite restaurant is S&P Oyster House and Daniel Packard Inn.
You had a good excuse for missing! You should try it though. This is a really good dessert.

How wonderful that you took some time just for your son! I hope you have fun on your trip, but try to make this when you get back. I made the cappuccino and it was amazing.

Peggy, I got your comment but wasn't sure if you'd get it if I replied. I'd recommend Paris! Rome is wonderful and has tons of history, but is incredibly crowded, easy to get lost in (which we did daily), and huge. Paris, especially the part where you'd want to go as a tourist, is easy to cover on foot and has large boulevards. Where Paris is relaxed, Rome is manic.

If you wanted to branch out, Florence and Venice are better than Rome, IMO. San Gimignano is lovely for a day trip, and a lot of tours stop by there. When we go to Paris, we mostly like to stay in Paris. There's so much to see, and the cafe scene and walking along the river Seine are so enjoyable. Sometimes you can find tours that do both Paris and Rome. Wherever you choose, I know you'll have a great time!
