CEiMB - Pumpkin Pie Muffins

Our host this week is Oddball Oven Mitt and she refers to herself as Hat and Fappy. I love that. She chose Pumpkin Pie Muffins for us to bake this week and she is one of my favorite people today because of that. With fall here, anything pumpkin that comes my way gets scarfed up, chewed up, devoured, swallowed whole, and enjoyed! I love the smell of it as well as the taste of it. It makes my home smell delicious while it is baking. It makes me feel warm and happy.

The food we make during the fall season is one of the only things I like about fall. The leaves changing is another one. I hate the weather and I hate that it means cold weather is knocking on our doorstep. Give me spring and summer any day over fall and winter.

I added a few chocolate chips to some of my muffins and topped the rest with walnuts. These were easy to mix up!

Oops, where is the twelfth muffin? It's missing. There was not enough batter for twelve. But I had eleven nice big, fat muffins.

I didn't even think to put walnuts on top! Great idea. I thought about chocolate, but restrained myself. They do smell like fall, don't they? Take care!

I like the toppings you added! I bet they tasted great with nuts and/or choco- kinda like a pumpkin cookie.

I love that you did a few different toppings. I chose cranberry...made me feel like I had a little taste of Thanksgiving :)

This is appetizers week in our Ina Garten Fridays group!!  I chose her deviled eggs because we love deviled eggs and I never deviate from my old family recipe so I thought I would branch out and try something different.  I'm so glad I did!  I love these and I am sure my DH will love them tonight for dinner also. Lenox Almond Biscotti

This week Gretchen of Canela & Comino chose Lenox Almond Biscotti for our recipe challenge. Oh Gretchen, thank you thank you, thank you! Biscotti has always been one of my favorite foods (especially around the holidays). Who knew someone of so little culinary experience could actually bake biscotti in their own kitchen? And the greatest thing of all was this was actually one of the easiest things I have baked AND I had all the ingredients I needed right in that pantry of mine. Or so I thought . . . My new shiny red KA mixer was gently purring like a kitten as it mixed my wonderful dough when I discovered - oops, completely out of almond flavoring. It is my turn to host! Almost three years ago I had no idea what a food blog was, much less that there were ladies and gentlemen all across the world baking and writing about such things, and sharing and growing with each other over recipes.  I'm not a chef or a great baker, but I do love to cook for my family so I decided to join in.  Since we are just two days past Mother's Day, I want to thank my sweet mother (who passed away three years ago) for sharing her love of cooking with me.
