TWD - All in One Holiday Bundt Cake

It's my favorite time of the year! This week especially. My birthday is Wednesday and Thanksgiving is Thursday and all that food we can consume!! Happy Birthday to Me!

On our Tuesdays with Dorie group, we had the option of posting our recipes this month in any order we chose. This week I am posting the All in One Holiday Bundt Cake chosen by Britin of The Nitty Britty. Use this link to jump over to her website to get the recipe. This is one you do not want to miss. It is called all in one for a good reason - it has everything but the kitchen sink in it! While I thought the cake would taste more pumpkiney (is that a word?), it really tasted more like an apple cake to me. It is filled with pumpkin, apples, cranberries, pecans, and lots of yummy spices.



I took it Saturday night to my birthday bash at our dance club and everyone really enjoyed it. The comment I heard the most was how moist it was. My DH ate a big hunk of it this morning for breakfast with our Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes. You gotta love those! It was a huge hit at my house and with my friends. My good friend Janet made her famous brownies for me and they are always a hit as well.
the cake was NOT responsible for this behaviour however!! Just Matt and Nathan messing around. . . .

MOVIE NEWS: I can't end this blog without reporting on seeing New Moon. While I thought it was way better than the first Twilight movie, it still was a bit slow. The special effects however were awesome. And so were Edward and Jacob. . . .oh to be a teenager again! I can't wait for the third movie to come out in June.

I loved this cake! I am actually making it again tomorrow to take with me when we travel for Thanksgiving. Making and freezing it, then bringing it with :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! You look stunning and I hope you had a wonderful time at your bash. The cake was tasty, wasn't it? Glad you enjoyed it. I still haven't seen Twilight yet. But I am going to ASAP! Those boys are HOT!

And New Moon was amazing, I loved it. You're right: Jacob looks really buff, but I'm still on Team Edward ;)

Happy Birthday . . . one day early. I love the pictures that you posted -- it looks like everyone was having a really good time.
The cake was so tasty, and I bet it was even better with the pumpkin spice latter. That sounds like a heavenly combination.

Happy Birthday to you! My son-in-law's birthday is the day after Thanksgiving. Your cake looks great. I loved this with the maple glaze.

This is appetizers week in our Ina Garten Fridays group!!  I chose her deviled eggs because we love deviled eggs and I never deviate from my old family recipe so I thought I would branch out and try something different.  I'm so glad I did!  I love these and I am sure my DH will love them tonight for dinner also. TWD - Crunchy Toffee Bars

Every time I bake with toffee chips, I think of Heath Ledger. You get it, right, Heath Toffee / Heath Ledger. I know I'm weird. But in honor of the Oscars this week, I thought a photo of Heath was appropriate. He was a great actor with a brilliant future ahead of him. Sad. Of course, my real photo choice of the week was going to be my personal favorite Hugh Jackman. Since he was the host of the Oscars, I think it only fitting that we post a photo of him, as well, right? After all, he IS the sexiest man alive. I knew he could act, and look pretty, but dang - he can sing and dance too! Okay girls - get your minds out of the gutter and back to the matter at hand. Truly, get serious! Lenox Almond Biscotti

This week Gretchen of Canela & Comino chose Lenox Almond Biscotti for our recipe challenge. Oh Gretchen, thank you thank you, thank you! Biscotti has always been one of my favorite foods (especially around the holidays). Who knew someone of so little culinary experience could actually bake biscotti in their own kitchen? And the greatest thing of all was this was actually one of the easiest things I have baked AND I had all the ingredients I needed right in that pantry of mine. Or so I thought . . . My new shiny red KA mixer was gently purring like a kitten as it mixed my wonderful dough when I discovered - oops, completely out of almond flavoring.
