TWD - Tarte Fine

Hostess this week:  Leslie of Lethally Delicious

One of my favorite blogging friends, Leslie of Lethally Delicious, chose this Tarte Fine for this week's Tuesday with Dorie challenge.

I decided to make mine round by cutting my pastry around a bowl as a pattern because I saw Gordon Ramsey do it on a video.  Of course he also torched his end result and it all looked so easy.  All I can say is something happened to mine.  It was abducted by aliens and this is how it came out.  My puff pastry did not rise up around it.  It is lacking an apple because I messed up the first apple I sliced into.  And it needed that apple.  It pains me to look at it.  And the saddest part of this was that this is not a difficult recipe.  It was easy or. . .. . was it?

This was not my favorite recipe.  But go over to Leslie's blog and see how hers turned out and you can get the recipe there!

I think it looks great! No aliens here.
The aliens did a great job. It looks fine to me.

After messing up so badly with SMS, nothing can compare.

Not that I wish them on anyone, but I'm glad the aliens didn't visit me this week! But seriously, your tart is great! I wonder if cutting the round shape crimped the edges? I wish it cooperated with you, but I'm so glad we got to bake together! :-)

I think it looks lovely.

Did it taste good? If so, that is all that matters.

Yum - it looks delicious, Peggy!! Sorry it wasn't your favorite. You just never know when puff pastry is going to do you wrong or when the aliens will get it. Oh well, lots more chances in the coming weeks for an apple recipe you will love!!

I had never used puff pastry--I don't get out much! We loved it.

Oh, I think the aliens wouldn't have given it back. They would have eaten it! The tarte looks just fine.

Sorry this didn't turn out the way you would have liked. Hopefully the apples will cooperate more next week. =)

I think it looks really tasty! Are you sure they weren't friendly aliens who just misunderstood a little part of the directions or something? I would happily dig into that tart! It's so pretty, and I love the shape.

Hey now.. cut that alien some slack. I think aliens make good bakers, don't you? Your tart looks good to me. I loved it.

You have been one busy little blogger. I had to scroll down to find this one.

Ah yes, the aliens strike again. WHEN will we vanquish them forever? Sorry that you didn't love it, but if it helps I think your round tart looks yummy.

So sad you didn't like it.... You should try to make it again: plan it on a day that you're sure the aliens won't visit, like on an alien-holiday!!!

Oh, I love the round shape...I haven't seen anyone else do a round one, so this is fun to see. I still need to make this, hopefully today when the guys return from the Denver recruit visit...otherwise I would have been tempted to eat way too much of it left on my own. Yours looks delicious.
